NBA 2K27 Modes Deep Dive: Co-Op MyCAREER, Historical Eras, MyNBA Legacy, and MyWNBA
MyCAREER adds co-op multiplayer and five historical eras. MyNBA Legacy lets you build a 100-year dynasty. MyWNBA and The W get build-as-you-go progression and franchise control.
August 18 brought a wave of mode announcements beyond the on-court gameplay changes. Here’s what MyCAREER, MyNBA, MyWNBA, The W, and MyTEAM look like in 2K27.
Co-op MyCAREER: finally
A long-requested feature arrives: co-op multiplayer in MyCAREER. Invite a friend who owns NBA 2K27 to play alongside you through your career.
Your co-op partner controls Trace Miller, a custom teammate you meet in the G League who stays with you through your NBA journey. Choose from nine build templates inspired by NBA stars, then upgrade Trace’s attributes, badges, and playstyle through gameplay. Both players earn their own full amounts of VC and Season XP.
MyCAREER Historical Eras
For the first time, insert your MyPLAYER into five iconic basketball eras:
- The Magic vs. Bird Era
- The Jordan Era
- The Kobe Era
- The LeBron Era
- The Steph Era
The foundation comes from MyNBA Eras, now brought directly into the MyCAREER story.
MyNBA Legacy: 100-year dynasty
MyNBA adds MyNBA Legacy — a single-player, player-locked mode bridging front-office management and on-court dominance. Choose any player in the Modern Era, earn XP to upgrade attributes and badges, and build a legend across a century of NBA history. Works as a deep challenge or a casual sandbox.
MyWNBA and The W
MyWNBA now mirrors MyNBA with full franchise control — trades, drafts, dynasty building from the front office. The W focuses on on-court career progression with:
- Build-as-You-Go progression (The W exclusive): remove and reapply attributes to evolve your game
- Team Badges and Teammate Badges: five Team Badges and 12 Teammate Badges fuel on-court chemistry
- PlayVision overhaul: unlock quick plays and complex sets by earning coaching staff trust
- Updated Game Attribute System where physical attributes determine maximum attribute caps
MyTEAM: Exchange without limits
MyTEAM’s Exchange is more powerful in 2K27. Exchange any Player Card (except Free Agents) — including cards used for Collection Rewards, which become unauctionable rather than locked. Every card is a meaningful asset toward elite rewards. New Player XP lets cards level up on the court.
