NBA 2K27's First Co-Ed City: Rotating REC, Rucker Park, Crew HQ, and Casual Corner
Male and female MyPLAYERs compete side by side in The City for the first time. The REC rotates five environments, Rucker Park returns, and new hubs like Crew HQ and Casual Corner reshape online play.
The City is getting its biggest structural update in years. NBA 2K27 introduces the franchise’s first co-ed City, where male and female MyPLAYERs compete in the same online spaces — with competition determined by build ratings, not appearance.
Co-ed competition on equal footing
Every mode in The City is co-ed: The REC, The Theater, Street Kings, Park, Proving Grounds, Ante-Up, Starting 5, Crew HQ, and Casual Corner. Height, wingspan, badges, and attribute ratings come from your MyPLAYER build, not your character’s appearance.
Female MyPLAYERs are a City-only experience — you can’t take them into the NBA side of MyCAREER. For WNBA career play, The W returns with its own improvements. All game-enhancing rewards, including the MyPOINTS Accelerator, are earned in The City for all MyPLAYERs.
Rotating REC environments
The REC now randomly selects from five distinct venues each game:
- High School Gym
- Outdoor Court
- Private Gym
- Crowded Arena
- Season-themed venue
The Theater moves to an outdoor city block. Ante-Up relocates to a rooftop court with an infinity edge. Seasonal Parks add four new locations plus HD remasters of classic 2K17 parks.
Crew HQ: your squad’s home base
Crew HQ is a dedicated team hub — a counterpart to MyCOURT — with built-in voice chat, half-court and full-court setups for 1v1 through 5v5, and six Ranked Crew Game tiers leading to end-of-season divisional tournaments. Crew progression launches with 40 levels, gaining five more each season starting in Season 2.
Casual Corner for new players
Casual Corner is an optional, low-stakes hub for rookies intimidated by online play. Run 3v3 and 5v5 games matched by Overall Performance tier, progressing from PvE to full PvP before entering the wider City.
Rucker Park and Street Kings
Street Kings’ weekly tournament returns with a play-in round, best-of-five bracket, and single-elimination championship to 21. Rucker Park is faithfully recreated, and Court Crashers can spawn a legendary boss player mid-game.
Daily Rivals and Player Medals
Daily Rivals groups you with 39 skill-matched players for daily standings. Top-three finishers earn Rivals Tickets for rare swag. Nearly 300 Player Medals across five tiers track lifetime achievements, and REP tiers expand to 40 with double the rewards compared to last year.
